NOVECENTO

By Alessandro Baricco
28 October – 20 November 2010

Translated by Ann Goldstein

When you don’t know what it is...it’s jazz.”

In 1900 on board a great Atlantic cruise liner, Novecento was born. He became the greatest jazz musician the world would never know. For six years before World War II, Tim Tooney played trumpet with him and Novecento gave him his story...

Performed at Trafalgar Studio 2, as part of the Donmar's 12-week residency to showcase the work of our Resident Assistant Directors.
